A clean sweep at the Kyu Grading, Newark......
Sensei Ohta was assisted by special guest instructor from the JKA Tokyo Honbu, Sensei Hirayama.
University of Lincoln karateka all progressed to the next belt and we now have three students eager to take Shodan next year.
Well done on your achievement everyone.
Kyu Grades National Championship......
The annual JKA England Kyu Grade National Championship was held on Sunday the 23rd November 2008 in Walton on Thames, Surrey.
Our squad of Simon Parker, Tim Austin, James Wakefield, Sarah King and Daniel Wait gave a good account of themselves.
James excelled and took silver medal for Sanbon Kumite against a winner who had earlier picked up a thump in the face from Daniel during their elimination bout!
Great spirit was shown by the squad and nearly all eliminations were by competitors who went on to medal positions - no shame in that!
Our first of many JKA Championships for the club and a great foundation to build on. Well done everyone.
